Palm has just made it clear that a new smartphone release will take place on the 12th of September in the UK. There are high chances that it will be the long expected Palm Centro, especially as this phone has everything set for an official release in the near future.

Palm has just launched a competition to win one of their latest handsets. All that visitators have to do is sign up for being among the first ones to receive information on the company's latest device on the 12th of September. They promise it to be "great for email, mobile internet, instant messaging, text and - with a full keyboard - saying what you really mean".

Sounds just like Palm Centro and its evolved communication solutions. The device has just leaked some official photos, which made it clear at that time that it is heading towards an official release and that preparations were coming to an end. If it is this device in question, the Europeans will be first to get their hands on it, as this teaser has been aimed especially towards them.

Palm Centro is one of the smallest such devices coming from Palm and also a HSDPA-enabled one. It also rumored to be set for a US release at Sprint in the future on a 90-day exclusivity and an unbelievably small price of USD 100. Still, other continents except Europe are left out the promotion for now, which leaves the matter of a doubt concerning the smartphone that will be unveiled at the date set.

The selection list includes only Germany, Italy, Nertherlands and UK. Because of this, there are high chances that only residents from the countries can join the lucky draw. No matter how this might be, it's clear that Palm has some surprises prepared for the 12th of September.
