Atari has just made available their compilation of classic arcade games stuffed in one pack and dubbed Atari Classics Evolved, for Sony's PlayStation Portable. The compilation is already on North American retailers' shelves, rated E for Everyone, and going for no more than $19.99. Games included feature both their original and revamped versions, as far as graphics and some gameplay features go. Check out more stuff on the titles included in the compilation below.

According to an official report, Atari Classics Evolved includes the following genre-defining classics: Battlezone, Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command, Tempest, Lunar Lander, Super Breakout, Warlord, Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe and Pong. What's probably even better is that 40 original Atari 2600 titles can be unlocked if your game is good enough. These titles include favorites such as Yar's Revenge, Night Driver, Canyon Bomber and Crystal Castles among many others.

"Gamers today have gotten used to the increasing complexity of video games," said Todd Slepian, Producer, Atari, Inc. "But it's always nice to take a break from these monstrous titles and go back to the games that defined our childhoods. With so many fun classic games packed into such a small disc, it's hard not to crack a little smile for days gone by."

Atari has also confirmed that all 11 classic arcade titles in Atari Classics Evolved feature their original retro graphics. However, just as with arcade classics hitting the XBLA every week, you'll have the option to play them in beautifully rendered "Evolved" graphics, with even enhanced gameplay features. The 11 classic arcade titles also feature online leaderboards, allowing players to compare scores against some of the best players in the world.

A feature not available with all of the games within this compilation is that they also offer local peer-to-peer wireless capability, allowing players to compete in fierce local multiplayer matches. Again, not all of the games within the Atari Classics Evolved compilation come with this feature.
