Nintendo have updated their Internet service for the Wii and so has Microsoft. Two games are set to hit the Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday, as downloadables, at 9:00 a.m. GMT. Sensible World of Soccer and Tempest go for 800 MS Points and 400 MS Points respectively.

Sensible World of Soccer is a revamped version of the the 96 / 97 original, featuring HD visuals, online multiplayer modes over Xbox LIVE, a Career mode and even a game mode where you can lead a team to the Champions League. Wait! There's more. A tutorial mode has also been set up, to bring players on a competitive level.

Don't worry though, Sensible World of Soccer keeps all of the original touches that made it the a genre defining title it is, only introducing optional enhancements to bring the game up to date. As such, both original and updated custom graphics modes are available, allowing players to experience the game the classical way, or in high definition.

Tempest on the other hand is an intense shooter that has players fighting endless waves of enemies before the time runs out so they can advance to the next stage. You'll be using an entire arsenal of weapons within a classic title that also features a graphics overhaul. The game requires lightning quick reflexes, as players must harness their firepower to shoot and destroy enemy hordes in a desperate fight for survival across fluorescent geometric battlefields.

As with Sensible World of Soccer, Tempest also contains both the original and enhanced gameplay modes.

So, if you're interested in getting one of the two games (or why not even both), Sensible World of Soccer will be available for 800 MS Points this Wednesday, while Tempest is a mere 400 pointer, launching on the same day, via the same service, XBLA. Both games have been rated 3+.
