Japanese games developer and publisher Capcom has just issued a few statements about its relationship with PC gaming and how more and more of its internal projects are also being made for that particular platform, not just on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Capcom hasn't exactly had the best of relationships with the PC platform, prompting many gamers to start worrying that it's just content with making games for consoles and forgetting about the computer.

With more and more games coming out on the PC from the Japanese company, its Senior Vice President, Christian Svensson, has made a few statements, emphasizing just how important the platform is becoming.

"Both the US and our European teams continue to request PC SKUs for new titles. We've got more titles coming with PC versions than ever before," he says. "At green light meetings, our Japanese COO and the head of the consumer and online software business increasingly request a PC version if one is not being proposed at the outset of a project."

Svensson says that with titles like Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition or the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the publisher is taking extra measures to ensure that PC gamers know that the titles are coming to their platform and have multiple purchase options.

"On the sales and marketing side of things, we're building up better marketing experience around PC gaming worldwide and pulling in more and more partners to work with us in that space. So in short," Svensson concludes, "while we’re still not yet where I’d like for us to be, the future is getting better for Capcom fans who are PC gamers all over the world."

The company emphasizes that because it's part of the PC Gaming Alliance, and is trying to establish a strong presence in PC-centric markets like Russia or South Korea, quite a lot of PC games or adaptations are going to appear in the future.

With many companies trying to distance themselves from the PC, it's quite nice to hear Capcom endorsing it and trying to please gamers no matter their platform of choice.
