14 DAY TRIAL // Capcom has just confirmed that it will be releasing a very special Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition title this summer, which overhauls some of the elements in the non-Arcade version and even adds characters that were exclusive only to the fighting game that was released in Japanese arcades.
Capcom has been slowly letting the news appear from its recent Captivate conference onto the web, and, this time, Street Fighter fans are in for a pretty big treat, as the Japanese company has confirmed that Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition will be appearing onto the market this summer.
Dubbed the "ultimate version of Street Fighter IV," the game "will further redefine the fighting game genre with classic 2D Street Fighter fighting action, a host of new and returning characters, beefed up online modes, and more."
This upgraded version of the regular Super Street Fighter IV fighting game, which was released last year, will have a 39 character roster, with four new fighters joining the fray, in the form of Evil Ryu, Oni, Yun and Yang.
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition will be released in a multitude of ways.
First, for those who already bought Super Street Fighter IV, it will arrive as a downloadable content pack, which will cost $15.
It will also be a part of a re-release of Super Street Fighter IV, which will ship on retail discs for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as well as for the PC, marking the first release of the upgraded game on that platform.
