See why it's good to be evil

Video games almost always portray good characters that have to save their village/country/planet or other precious thing to them from destruction by the forces of evil who want to make everything theirs and enjoy the suffering of others.

Codemasters changed the recipe when it released Overlord, which placed the players in the shoes of a demonical being who needed to defeat his enemies and take control of the land, even if it meant hurting its inhabitants.

The game was a great success and now the UK-based publisher is preparing three more titles with the Overlord brand for release this June. The most important one is Overlord II, which will appear for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC. Promising to offer players even more options to rule their domain and use their devoted minions in order to defeat enemies, the game is getting ready to be released.

In order to fuel the hype around the title, Codemasters has announced that a playable demo of the game is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and would arrive on the PlayStation Store and the PC next week.

The short demo has the evil Overlord in a small icy town in a Northern region and sets forth his band of minions in order to defeat their animals (small fluffy seal pups) and their inhabitants (hippy, peace-loving elves). To make the minions more powerful, the player can befriend a pack of wolves and teach the small creatures to ride them in order to become faster and more agile.

Also, to showcase the amusing side of the game, the team at Codemasters has made a video that gives people ten reasons why it's cool to be evil. Check out the hilarious video below and don't forget to leave a comment with your thoughts on this upcoming game that will be out on June 26.
