Right now, there's an increase demand on the market for imaging solutions able to capture certain objects either in 360-degree or 3D (hemi-spherical or spherical) modes, and in order to make things easier for professionals involved in this field, a company called Ortery has launched a set of tools for simplifying and streamlining the process of capturing and composing images into cylindrical, hemi-spherical and full spherical product animations.

For capturing 360-degree images, Ortery has developed the PhotoCapture 360 turntable (Mac and Windows compatible), that rotates the item being shot, the resulting photos being then combined in a single image with the help of the proprietary TruView 360 software, the exported to various web-based applications.

Now, moving into the field of 3D imaging, Ortery's offering the 3D PhotoArm 2000, a professional tool for capturing hemispherical and spherical product photographs at precise and repeatable angles, which is quite an important issue, enabling a stable and efficient workflow.

This solution features a 61.8" vertical arm and 30.12" horizontal arms that, combined with the aforementioned PhotoCapture 360 turntable, enables the full automation of image capture at all angles.

Naturally, this mechanical solution is also accompanied by a software application, called TruView 3D, that allows captured JPG and RAW images to be exported to any application ( Flash, Silverlight and HTML+Javascript platforms supported) or automatically composed with TruView 3D.

Moreover, the company's also offering users the 3D PhotoArm 3000 which boasts a 75.6" vertical arm and 40" reach, making it particularly useful for larger objects (that product photographers are quite often faced with), but also a completely automated solution, called the Photosimile 5000.

No pricing details on these products have been provided, but you can contact the company directly if you want to find out more on this topic.
