Orange and T-Mobile UK, which have joined forces in a single entity since last year, called Everything Everywhere, plan on deploying 4G networks in the country in the near future.

The biggest communications company in the UK announced plans to invest no less than £1.5bn+ over the next three years to further integrate the two networks, to bring various enhancements to its network, and to start the deployment of 4G technology.

The company also announced that it aims at deploying a large, fast and reliable 4G network, so that its customers will benefit from a great experience while on the go.

However, the carrier is expecting for the appropriate spectrum to become available, and only then it will be able to upgrade the network to 4G.

“Everything Everywhere is also making significant investments in its mobile backhaul – the fixed network that connects individual cell sites – and is critical to delivering even faster data speed for customers,” the carrier notes.

The company has already conducted live trials of 4G technology, in a partnership with BT Wholesale. The trial was launched in September and is said to have yelled great results.

The carrier expects its network to offer great coverage over rural areas, while also ensuring cost-effectiveness. Moreover, it will bring wireless connectivity to areas where there is no data connectivity access, either fixed or mobile.

“With mobile data increasing 250% over the past two years, we are making these investments so we can deliver on our ambition to provide the UK’s most reliable, biggest and best mobile data network,” Olaf Swantee, CEO of Everything Everywhere, commented.

“We believe that the UK requires a 21st century infrastructure and are committed to rolling out 4G as soon as possible to support growing data use, connect parts of the country with little or no mobile broadband, and drive economic growth.”
