Andrew Garfield is the new Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot. He’s now shooting scenes for the movie on various sets in Los Angeles and, as it happens, paparazzi pictures of him in character and in action have already leaked online.

As one e-zine puts it, by the time the new “Spider-Man” film drops in theaters, if this keeps up, odds are fans will have already seen most of the movie.

Several pictures from the set have surfaced online – and now we have a fresh batch to look at, with Spidey taking down a man believed to be a thief, as AceShowbiz reports.

The images show Garfield in costume (or a stunt double in costume) tackling the criminal and taking him down. But there is more to the scene than that, one eyewitness says.

“On Thursday, February 3, the superhero was snapped grappling with a man believed to be playing a burglar who is trying to break in a car,” AceShowbiz writes.

“More interestingly, there were two Spider-Men spotted during the filming in Los Angeles,” the e-zine notes, citing the unnamed eyewitness.

“The Spider Man Reboot films a scene involving a car burglar and two Spider-Men which both appear on camera,” says the spy on the movie set.

Apparently, the two Spider-Men ambush the thief. It’s not known whether this was done as a stunt for the film or whether there will actually appear 2 Spideys in the finished product, in the film.

“In the scene, Andrew Garfield in character as Spider-Man is hiding in the back seat of a car that a car burglar attempts to steal,” the eyewitness explains.

“The spooked thief exits the car to escape but is taken down by a second Spider-Man as Spider-Man number one (Garfield) watches the action through the backseat window. Both Spider-Men were also seen rehearsing a stunt together while covered in trench coats,” adds the spy.

“Spider-Man” with Andrew Garfield drops in US theaters on July 2012. We’ll see then what the deal was with the two Spideys in this particular fight scene.
