Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia is gearing up for the release of a new flavor of its Symbian operating system, one that would bring forth a new user interface, as can be seen in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

The leading handset vendor was already known to plan the launch of this OS update, previously spotted into the wild as software PR2.0 for the latest Symbian^3 devices, but it seems that the platform would also be pre-loaded on new hardware.

As can be seen below, at least one new Symbian handset is on its way to the market from Espoo, namely the Nokia X7, which has been spotted into the wild before.

Apparently, along with this video, two other clips leaked, though they are private now, showing more of the new Symbian UI on the X7, as well as on the Nokia E6, another handset from the company that was spotted at large not too long ago.

The new Symbian OS flavor is expected to come to the market not only with changes to its graphical interface, but also with various enhancements under the hood.

One of these changes would affect the speed of the mobile browser included with the platform, said to be a few times faster than before, while others would include the portrait QWERTY keyboard.

Have a look at the video below to see a Three UK representative presenting the Nokia X7 and the new Symbian operating system.

According to some of the previous rumors, Nokia might be set to unveil the new Symbian UI, along with new devices powered by the mobile operating system as soon as this week, during a London event.

Nothing was officially confirmed on the matter for the time being, but, given the wide range of reports converging towards the near launch of X7 and E6, it should not come too much as a surprise if the rumors pan out.
