Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia is expected to come to the market with a wide range of handsets during the ongoing year, and a brother for the Nokia N8 might also be included into the mix.

While the original device landed on shelves as the Nokia N8-00, the new phone might be released as the Nokia N8-01, which would fit perfectly with Nokia's new naming scheme.

No info on the landing of this device emerged for the time being, but it might be launched on shelves during the ongoing year, along with a flurry of other devices from the leading mobile phone maker.

A total of 40 new phones are expected to come out from Espoo, 12 of which are said to be smartphones, and the Nokia N8-01 might be one of them.

While the hardware specifications for the new mobile phone are shrouded in mystery, some details on its display did emerge.

Unlike the nHD display on N8-00, the screen on the new N8-01 might boast a qHD (540 x 960 pixel) resolution, which would mean an impressive increase in quality.

However, this was not confirmed for the time being, and info on the actual size of the screen lacks as well, though we might expect it to be larger than the 3.5-inches on Nokia N8-00.

In all fairness, it might all prove to be only a rumor in the end, so we'll take the available info with a grain of salt for the time being.

On the other hand, it seems that there is a great possibility that the device would prove to be real, along with some other Nokia phones headed for the market in 2011, including the Nokia T7-00 and X7-00, both of which already made it to the headlines, but which are not official as of yet.

Rumor has it that Nokia might announce some new Symbian devices in a matter of weeks, so keep an eye on this space for more info on the matter.
