Nokia Siemens plans on investing USD 100 million in order to make India a powerful environment for developing telecommunications solutions. They hope to manage this by introducing the best equipment and new offices throughout the country's surface.

India currently shows a strong potential when it comes to implementing new solutions for the development of mobile communication. It is even more the case with Nokia Siemens, as this company is at this time the main equipment vendor and the leader in managed service here.

India is only one of the large number of countries where Nokia Siemens currently provides this type of services. Their advanced solutions for telecommunication are convenient for many countries that have decided to use this company's services.

Nokia Siemens considers that India is one of the best areas where they could take their services to and they are not wrong. "The Indian telecommunications market is entering a next wave of growth; one that will see a rapid build out of mobile and broadband networks outside the major cities and delivery of a host of new services to consumers across the country. To address this growing local demand, and reduce the overall time to market of products and services to our operator customers, we are investing in strengthening our local presence and creating a strong ecosystem in India", said Simon Beresford-Wylie, CEO, Nokia Siemens Networks.

"With our extensive managed services capability and end to end product portfolio, we are committed to building a strong local telecommunication ecosystem in India to address and drive the growth of the Indian mobile industry", said Ashish Chowdhary, Head of India Sub-region, Nokia Siemens Networks.

Construction work on sourcing will start later this year at the site, while production is expected to start only at the beginning of year 2008.
