Nokia N81 has just received its FCC approval, which makes it clear that we will see it soon enough hitting the US market. The phone will follow another highly evolved handset that has just been approved for a launch in North America, the 8GB black
Nokia N95 smartphone.

Nokia N81 has encountered some problems on European grounds, because of its pre-installed music service that Nokia has launched along with its new evolved handsets, the Music Store. Operators rejected this mobile phone because it made direct competition for their own music providing services.

Nokia N81 has even more services from this producer to bring, as it is also nGage enabled. Still, the service will be launched only in November, which leaves some time left to wait until this feature is active too.

It looks like the Finnish company has filed this phone for receiving its approval at the end of June, long before they released it on the market. The American version of the phone operates on quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900), with single-band WCDMA providing broadband.

No differences have been spotted until now for the US version of Nokia N81, which gives it high chances of arriving with the same specifications as the European one. This means 8GB of internal memory, more than enough for storing a huge amount of personal information on it.

The phone packs a 2 megapixel camera with 20x digital zoom and also has a front camera for placing video calls. This is, first of all, a music phone, as it supports a large number of media formats and also has Windows Media Player 11 installed. Other than that, it is Bluetooth enabled and also packs an FM radio, aside from the Music Store support.

Nokia N81 should be available in the US until the end of this year, now that it has received its FCC blessing.
