Nintendo Wii and PS3 Charging Stations Revealed and Priced

Looks like someone is thinking of poor, poor, Nintendo Wii and PS3 owners who find themselves out of batteries when they need them the most. This company is Nyko, you probably know them because they have developed a lot of gaming related stuff (most of them for the Xbox 360).

This time, Nyko addresses the PS3 and the Wii as the first dock chargers for their controllers were just announced.
As you see in the picture, the Wiimote dock is a nice place to stick your controller into. It comes with rechargeable NiMH batteries and it will retail for US$ 29.99, according to Eurogamer.
The other device from Nyko is a charger for the PS3 wireless controller, the SIXAXIS. After winning an Emmy, the SIXAXIS can be put into its dock and quietly recharged. This device is a little bit steeper, retailing for US$ 39.99. Do not try to stick it into any USB port you might find on the PS3, because it comes with a six foot standard wall plug, so don't get the wrong idea.

The Wiimote is the primary controller for the Nintendo Wii console, and that is why it drains so much power. The main feature of the Wiimote is its motion sensing capabilities, which allows the user to interact with and manipulate items on screen via movement and pointing. In some games, you are also required to use its attachment, the so-called Nunchuck, another battery drainer.

The SIXAXIS is no more than an improved version of the Dual Shock 2 PlayStation controller, but with wireless capabilities. At first, its design was a revolutionary one as it was shaped like a boomerang. Unfortunately, that design was not kept and we are stuck with the old boring PS design.
