Tecmo Koei Europe has announced that it plans to release a Collector's Edition of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, set to be outed on October 2, at the same time as the regular edition of the title. The price of the package is 49.99 British pounds and should only be sold at HMV.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is the PlayStation 3 version of a title already out on the Xbox 360 and comes complete with new characters and more demons to slay.

The limited edition packs quite a bit of new stuff for the truly passionate gamer. There's a copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 included, of course, but the real appeal of the edition is the Ninja Gaiden Treasury, an 80-page book containing a comic put together by Team Ninja themselves, set to offer more details related to the events prior to the beginning of the game proper.

A character art gallery is also included along with a Strategy Guide that has profiles for all the weapons in the game alongside descriptions for all combos and ninpos. There are also hints and tips for all those who find the videogame to be too hard. The Collector's Edition contains an original soundtrack CD and players will also get access to an exclusive character costume, which can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network.

Will Curley, who is the vice president of Sales and Marketing at the company, stated that “Tecmo Koei Europe is staffed by gamers, with a gamers’ eye on what makes a worthwhile purchase. With the announcement of the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector’s Edition, we’re sure fans of the series will love what’s in store for them. Setting the RRP of the Collector’s Edition Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 at £49.99 we believe gamers will feel they’re getting a lot of Ninja Gaiden and extras for their cash.”
