Better than ever

Ninja Gaiden in itself is a phenomenon and creating the PlayStation 3 version for each new iteration is in itself an event. The game, which has been confirmed as coming on September 29, with so many other titles being pushed back into 2010, is set to offer owners of a PlayStation 3 more options than ever and more content than those playing on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft got. The regular edition of the game will cost 59.99 dollars, while a Collector's Edition will be 10 dollars more.

Tecmo is really trying to put together a package that could attract a wide variety of gamers. The basic gameplay is pretty much unchanged, with demonic rivals falling prey to the extraordinary skills of the players and with the rather frustrating difficulty levels at some points.

But the main twist is that players now have more options related to who does the killing. Ryu Hayabusa, who was the main character of the original Ninja Gaiden 2, is joined by three lovely ladies.

Rachel from the original Ninja Gaiden will be coming back, Momiji from Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword will also be playable, and gamers can take control of Ayane from Dead or Alive, a related series. The three new characters will play somewhat differently, emphasizing speed over power, and they will be accessible to the player both in online and offline gaming.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 should receive Team Missions, allowing for the introduction of new enemies and boss fights. Tecmo and Team Ninja have also been quoted as saying that the level of gore in the new game has been dialed down when compared to the Xbox 360 release.

Those who pre-order the game from GameStop will get a comic book, an exclusive art gallery and a strategy guide.
