Nexus One by HTC seems set to soon take the Android crown from the Motorola DROID, currently considered the hottest device running under Google's operating system. The handset emerged into the headlines a few weeks ago, and we've seen a wide range of rumors and suppositions regarding its specs and availability posted, as well as some hardware specs on it, yet now the full list of specifications emerged into the wild, confirming some that were already known, and also bringing new ones into the equation.

The new info on the device emerged via Engadget, and offered a very interesting Christmas reading to enthusiasts, that's for sure. Among the specs the news site brought to light, we can count 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and the 1GHz processor that powers the device, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, support for HSPA 900 / 1700 / 2100 MHz, 7.2Mbps down and 2Mbps up, and a microSD memory card slot that enables users include up to 32GB of additional storage space into the equation.

The 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display Nexus One was rumored to come around with is also said to be there, and the same seems to apply to the Android 2.1 flavor of Google's operating system. Considering that the handset is only 11.5mm thick, and that it still includes a wide range of capabilities, it should appeal a lot to users even if it won't arrive on the market as the Google Phone enthusiasts were expecting for. But things might turn another way it seems, since Engadget says that “it'll be available only by 'invitation' at first.”

There are no exact details on how this invitational system will work, but it seems that we'll be able to learn all about it as soon as January 5 arrives, since that should be the day Nexus One becomes available for purchase, just as rumored before. Accessory-maker Seidio also seems confident that the device should arrive in the near future, and a quick look at their website will show you just that. However, until more solid details on the Nexus One's launch emerge, you should take a look at the shots below, to learn what it is set to arrive to the market with.
