While the PS2 might be outdated, it's certainly not forgotten, either by users or by Sony itself, since the Japanese company has just outed a Bravia HDTV model in the UK that actually comes with a built-in Playstation 2 console, which is not exactly a very familiar sight in Sony's product lineup.

So, as RegHardware reports, the company has recently made available the Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300 model in the UK market that, as hard to believe as it might be, features a built-in gaming console, compatible with all the PS2 games out there (a controller is also included in the package).

Plus, as the company points out, the console can also easily double as a CD and/or DVD player, which further boosts this thing's utility.

The 22-inch HD Ready (720p) display features a BRAVIA Engine 3, while the 3D comb filter and MPEG noise reduction ensure a clean, sharp picture, whatever the source.

Since we're talking about a rather small-size (and fairly portable) solution, the native sound system isn't exactly spectacular, but Sony also equipped this combo unit with S-Force technology that boosts the sound, while Clear Voice makes dialogue easier to follow.

There's also a wide range of surround effect modes plus the option of outputting the sound via a digital output.

Furthermore, the TV packs plenty of connectivity options, including BRAVIA Internet Video onboard, 4 HDMI sockets, SCART, component interfaces, a PC input, twin optical digital outputs, headphone and audio outputs, 3 USB sockets (2 at USB 1.1) and 2 Ethernet connections.

Pricing for the Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300 is actually surprisingly low, the TV/PS2 combo selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 200 pounds sterling (312 US dollars), which is a very good price for the value that this device actually delivers (after all, it can easily replace a whole small-size entertainment center).
