Even though companies are experimenting with glasses-free 3D display solutions, such products are few and far from perfect, so Sony stuck to the 'regular' technologies when it designed the three latest BRAVIA KDL LCD 3D HDTV, specifically the 60NX810, 55NX810 and 46NX810.

The 60NX810, 55NX810 and 46NX810, for the most part, have the same specifications, the only two differences being their screen sizes of 60, 55 and 46 inches, respectively, and the fact that the 46-inch model lacks the LightSensro feature.

LightSensor, as its name implies, detects the lighting conditions in the room and adjusts screen brightness accordingly.

Other than that, the newcomers have the same array of high-end performance and features, from the Full HD resolution to the Internet widgets.

All TVs have a native resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels and support 3D, thanks to their refresh rates of 240Hz.

This refresh rate is made possible by the Motionflow PRO 240Hz Technology for Smooth Motion, essentially allowing for two sets of images to be displayed at the same time, at 120Hz each.

Another feature that Sony implemented is the DynamicEdge LED Backlighting, with local dimming.

What's more, the company even outfitted its products with built-in WiFi, which provides the network connectivity necessary for the BRAVIA Internet Video & Widgets to be of any use.

Basically, the newcomers are high-end 3D displays that allow media to be streamed not just from cable or set-top boxes or, PCs, but also directly from the Internet.

As for pricing and availability, the new Sony BRAVIA KDL 3D HDTVs will reportedly start shipping next month (September), at prices of $3,000 for the 46-incher, $3,700 for the 55-inch TV and a full $4,700 for the 60-inch display.

“BRAVIA is optimized to deliver the best possible 3D consumer experience by leveraging the vast knowledge from our theatrical and professional products groups,” said Chris Fawcett, vice president of Sony’s television business.

“3D is driving the growth of the entertainment industry and only Sony is involved in every stage of the platform,” he added.
