Midprofile Corporation announced the release of a mobile application that allows cell phone owners to easily sell items on eBay while on the go using their mobiles. The software, called Midprofile for eBay, enables users to create and submit live listings in all selling formats directly from their mobile devices. All the transaction-related information, such as images, text formatting, presentation and promotional features can be posted in a matter of seconds on eBay.

Midprofile for eBay can be used to access eBay online anytime and anywhere within wireless Internet coverage. The application can be used even when the user is outside the coverage area, allowing sellers to edit and save listings in progress for later posting on eBay. The functionality of the application offers greater flexibility than the traditional method of selling on eBay from a desktop computer with Internet connection. Thus, sellers can make use of their phone's camera to capture multiple photos of the product that are automatically integrated with the item description. In case the mobile device isn't equipped with a camera, users can choose to add any photo they like to the product's page. Midprofile for eBay allows users to search for suggested item categories and enter dynamic transaction data and descriptions for Auction-style, Fixed Price, Store Inventory and Classified Ad listings. Also, the application is designed to be easily updated to keep pace with eBay's search technology improvements.

The application's user interface has been specially conceived for the smaller screens of mobile devices and does not require the use of an Internet browser. All users need, in order to start selling, is to own a Java-enabled mobile device and, preferably, an unlimited wireless data subscription.

"Our profile-based technology transforms a mobile device into a virtual eBay selling environment," declared Matt Luker, Chief Technology Officer of Midprofile Corporation. "Users get the versatility and convenience of the portable mobile platform without sacrificing the reliability and safeguards that eBay transactions demand."
