Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is rumored to be getting ready to come to the market with a new handset that should be included in the Windows Mobile lineup from the company, namely the HTC Leo. The existence of the new device seems to have been unveiled by the leaked Manila 2.5, or the TouchFLO 3D 2.5 UI that HTC designed to work with its Windows Mobile-based devices.

As far as the rumor goes, it seems that there are some interesting specs that the new HTC Leo might come to the market with, including the WVGA screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as a flip form factor with an external QVGA screen. In addition, the phone might also sport a full QWERTY keyboard, though there are no specific details on it, and it should be rather interesting to see whether touch capabilities have been also included in the package.

According to WMPoweruser, the rumored HTC Leo should prove to be a rather powerful device, which would point towards the inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. When it comes to the graphics capabilities of the device, the fact that there might be support for OpenGL 2.0 included in it also suggests a Snapdragon processor, it seems.

The HTC Leo is supposedly a device that should come in line with some older handsets from the Taiwanese company, one of which would be the HTC Universal, a four-year-old phone, which was rumored to see the HTC Omni as its follower. In case this pans out, the Leo and Omni should be one and the same device, so those who once hoped that this phone would finally arrive might have reasons to rejoice in the end.

In related news, we learn that the HTC Leo is not the only mobile phone that the company might prepare for launch in the near future, as the names of three other handsets have emerged into the wild, HTC Click, Mega and Rome. These handsets, along with Leo, seem to have leaked from an accessory company, yet no specific details on them are available. For what it's worth, the HTC Mega might be the HTC Thoth (Athena 2), though it might be another phone in the end.
