Finally, the system requirements for the PC version of NFS ProStreet are here, but according to thoughtful blokes over at Nfsplanet who managed to snag them, the "specifications are not confirmed by EA yet." However, it never hurts to see whether you "kind-of" fit the profile or not. After all, they don't roll out "minimum" and "recommended" requirements for nothing, now do they? The ones listed below look minimum to us and they're pretty optimistic too.

Nfsplanet.com writes: "Our colleagues from NFSGame.net could get some information about the system requirements of the PC-version of Need for Speed ProStreet. Actually, these specifications are not confirmed by EA yet, but at least your can take these to find out if the game will run fluently on your PC:

OS: Windows XP/Vista CPU: 2.8 GHz or higher (Windows Vista requires 3.0 GHz) RAM: 512 MB RAM or higher (Windows Vista requires 1 GB RAM) HDD: 8.1 GB free disk space or more Graphics: 128 MB or higher (Pixel Shader 2.0, AGP and PCIe only) DirectX: Version 9.0c DVD-Drive: 8x Multiplayer: Internet Connection 512 Kbps, 2-8 Players Input: Keyboard, Mouse Optional: USB Steering Wheel / Dual Analogue Gamepad"

Optional too, Girlfriend 2.0 is needed, otherwise you won't be able to skip the start sequence at the beginning of each race.

Since EA made the big announcement that ProStreet was coming fast, hitting every possible platform out there, developer diaries started to emerge every other week: Drifting - an 'art form', how to dictate racing events and make customization blueprints, how to use the wind tunnel to check drag and downforce etc. As time passed and developer diaries rolled out, NFS ProStreet seemed to be shaping up into the best racing game ever developed.

What's even better is that a demo of NFS ProStreet for the Xbox 360 is due out soon. In fact, it should have hit the service already but it's not there yet. We're still checking though, so as soon as it hits the Marketplace we'll be updating this piece of news in the shortest time possible. Stay tuned!

Update: The NFS ProStreet demo is now available for free download via Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 owners. Have fun playing the two available game modes and check back in soon for a quick look at Softpedia's preview of EA's latest installment in the NFS series.
