Mobile phone users in Australia interested in the purchase of a new Android-based handset should soon have the opportunity to get a Motorola Milestone 2 from the wireless carrier Vodafone, as the company is getting ready to make the phone available on its airwaves.

The wireless operator announced officially the move via a recent post on its blog, though it did not offer specific info on when would the new mobile phone be put on sale, nor on the price tag it might feature.

For those who might have not met the Milestone 2 before, we should note that the handset is the successor of the first Milestone from Motorola, and that it was already launched in various markets around the world, including the US, where it sports the name of DROID 2.
