Sony Ericsson's Xperia X12 has just made another appearance into the wild, and some more details on its specifications were brought to light, including the fact that it might not run under the Android Gingerbread operating system when made available for purchase in early 2011.

The new smartphone was spotted for the first time into the wild about a week ago, when we learned that it should sport the codename of ANZU, while being expected to arrive on shelves as the Xperia X12.

A series of other details on the new device also emerged into the wild, including some allegedly leaked hardware specifications for the device, among which we spotted info on the possibility that it would run under the next version of Android, Gingerbread.

However, it turns out that the smartphone will be brought to the market with Google's Android 2.2 OS on board, and that it would receive an update to the next version of the mobile operating system at a later date.

The new info comes from Mobile-review, which already managed to preview the device, and which states that the smartphone should be released on the market in early 2011.

At the same time, the news site published some more info on the new device, including the fact that it would sport a 4.3-inch touchscren display, which boasts a 854 x 480 pixels resolution.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X12 should be powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 chip, the same as the one present at the moment in the T-Mobile G2 / Desire Z.

At the same time, it should arrive on shelves with a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 720p video recording capabilities.

Sony Ericsson's own UI should be included on top of Android. The handset is said to be thinner and lighter than the X10.

However, nothing was announced officially on the smartphone, and it might take a while before Sony Ericsson decides to bring it to light, so stay tuned for more.
