The study reveals that there will be 350 million business and consumer users with access to wireless email by 2010. Researchers expect mobile email solutions to gain considerable grounds especially over the next three years. By 2012, they will look forward to a fully functional, evolved wireless email solutions for mobile phones. Even 5 more years further, the service is expected to be fully integrated in mobile communication technology.

Although it will not happen in the nearest future, mobile email is developing towards a bright future. The number of advantages that this service holds over the SMS one is considerably high. First of all, there is no longer a space limit set up to 160 characters, as it was the case in the past. One major disadvantage that mobile email has presented until now when compared to SMS is that it needs strong mobile Internet connections.
