14 DAY TRIAL // We reported earlier this month about Micromax’s plans to launch another top-tier Android smartphone in India, the Canvas 3D A115.
Today, the Indian company has gone official with the previously leaked device and has confirmed that it will go on sale in early May.
Those who wish to purchase the Micromax Canvas 3D A115 should know that the smartphone has been priced at Rs 9999 outright, which is about $185 or €140.
Although the smartphone sports a 3D display, it does not require glasses. However, this is not something unusual, as most 3D smartphones are glasses-free.
Anyway, Micromax Canvas 3D A115 will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a 1GHz dual-core processor inside.
Maybe there’s nothing impressive about the smartphone’s hardware up to this point, but the real surprise is the large 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display featuring 3D technology.
Thus, the handset comes preloaded with Micromax 3D Space, allowing quick access to 3D content, including videos and 3D games.
Although Canvas 3D A115 comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera for video calls, it does not allow users to capture 3D videos and images. Instead, users will be able to convert normal pictures taken with the 5-megapixel main camera into 3D images.
It is also worth mentioning that Micromax Canvas 3D A115 offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, along with GPS.
There are no details on the amount of RAM and internal memory, but Micromax has confirmed that the smartphone’s 2,000 mAh battery can provide up to 4.5 hours of talk time.
As we have already mentioned, Micromax Canvas 3D A115 will be available for purchase in both black and white colors, beginning the first week of May.
