Is the PS3 losing all of the titles holding it together?

Just as I've finished writing about the PS3 ad that was pulled, I stumbled upon this interesting piece of news saying that Konami went back on their Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots trailer for the PlayStation 3, to tweak it up a bit. Why did it need tweaking?

After revealing to the press that a Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Pack and the launch of a commemorative website with all the pertinent details on the contents of the game, Konami kind of changed their mind in regards to the porting platforms and patched the trailer - the PS3 logo isn't present anymore.

Surprised? I wouldn't be. Publishers are running away from it like crazy, some say that the game's controller is harder to tackle (although I can't possibly imagine it being harder than the 360's or the Wii's), and then of course, it's the price of machine itself. Think of the repercussions of such happenings though. Metal Gear used to be a PS3 exclusive, then it was ported to the 360 to fans' anger, now a PlayStation 3 port is out of the question? What's next, Guitar Hero?

Luckily, that's not the case as it was NeoGAF members who discovered the changes, including fixing frame rates, lighting, new special effects and other less observable changes. The only reason for the trailer's lacking the PS3 logo is only because the game is also being ported to the Xbox 360. There, satisfied? I didn't have anything more to say to keep the suspense going, but I would have done it, trust me.

It looks like the PS3 is losing exclusivity on most of the popular titles and if there was anything that could pull it out of the dirt, it was a good title of two. By the looks of it, games like Gran Turismo 5 and Resistance: Fall of Man are the only titles holding it together.

We have embedded the video below for you, so you can check out for yourself that the PlayStation3 logo isn't anywhere to be found. However, between Snake's suicide and the end, you'll be treaded to some superb robot-slashing action from his ancestor, but if you're a fan of the series, you should be quite aware of the video's content, as it's been available for a year or so.
