Sony has talked about the weekend operations offered by BioWare for the multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3, saying that it’s negotiating with the studio to bring them to the game’s PlayStation 3 edition.

Mass Effect 3 players on the PC and Xbox 360 platforms were treated with an array of weekend “operations” ran by BioWare, which consisted of certain tasks that needed to be completed both by the players and the community. In exchange for their efforts, special equipment and weapon packs were handed out to those who participated.

Sadly, PS3 owners were unable to join in on the fun, with BioWare saying recently that Sony won’t allow such things on the platform.

Now, the Japanese company made a statement to Shacknews, saying that it’s “currently working together with EA and BioWare on an implementation to bring Mass Effect 3 multiplayer weekends to PS3.”

No other details were given but it seems that PS3 owners may finally get to participate in weekend operations and get exclusive rewards soon enough.
