She wore a rather awfully looking gown at a charity event

Catwalks have been seeing lots of amazing feathered frocks this year, from Luis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel, Roberto Cavalli, and, more recently, in Oscar de la Renta’s gorgeous exhibit of his pre-fall 2009 collection. Moreover, Marc Jacobs created for Luis Vuitton feathered accessories for bags and belts, and even the shoes created these days are embellished with plumage. Madonna seems to be the only one to get it wrong.

Madge is perhaps more famous for her rather peculiar choices in clothing than for her singing. Nevertheless, she just can't help dazzling the public eyes with her outfits. She did it again - attending the Gucci/UNICEF gala in New York, where the audience could admire (or stare at) her green feathered short dress, fortunately tiny enough not to stick to one's retina. It was also a Luis Vuitton creation for the 2009 spring season.

Even if the “green-grass dress” issue has been much debated, there's no doubt that the particular gown, paired with a thick golden belt, is just another fashion statement she's ready to make. It's already common knowledge the fact that she's the new face for Luis Vuitton 2009 bags collection, and the strange piece of clothing, which is not on sale for the moment, allows a deeper insight to her 2009 look and future activities.

Paired with gladiator high-heels, and black fishnet tights, her surprising appearance was completed by her retro-diva make-up and hair, reminding us of the way she used to look in the early 90's – red lips and softly accentuated eyes. Her Majesty is now in her 50s, but can still rock the show and catch the eye with her stunning appearances.

Time will tell whether her grass-like gown will reach other fashion tops, besides the one counting the ten faux-pas of 2008, recently presented in The Telegraph.
