According to the latest news on the web, the Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has finally made available the game pad module meant to work with its LG Versa handset, which the wireless carrier Verizon added to its offering as its Most Versatile Phone (MVP) due to the variety of functionality additions it supports.

The LG Versa is already available on the market since March 1, 2009, yet not all features that the handset could offer came with it right from the beginning. As many of you might already know, this unique touch-screen phone allows users to attach external modules to it so as to leverage its functionality, and up until now only a QWERTY keyboard module was available.

The game pad controller that now comes to the market is meant to leverage the user experience when playing games on the touchscreen mobile phone, while also proving a great option for gaming enthusiasts that own an LG Versa. Especially given the fact that it can slide on the back of the phone when not in use, something that offers extra convenience.

What the game pad module has to offer to mobile phone users includes an eight-way directional pad, as well as four gaming buttons. Given the fact that Verizon has its own application library, there might be enough games to offer support for the controller, which becomes handy either way for gaming while on the go.

Those who would like to acquire the game pad controller will have to pay $29.99 for it, which doesn't seem to be that much for a handy accessory that can easily extend the functionality options of a nice looking touchscreen device that comes with a 3D touch interface, as well as with support for Verizon's EV-DO mobile broadband service, Bluetooth connectivity and a 2-megapixel photo snapper.
