14 DAY TRIAL // The upcoming version of South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics' Chocolate has already been announced officially, only that no details on the exact availability of the device have been unveiled. Until more will be known, or the handset becomes available on the market, new live images with the phone, which is also the fourth Black Label-series device, should do.
This time around, the LG BL40 has been spotted on Mail.ru, and the guys over there report that the phone can play video files quite nicely, while also delivering multitasking capabilities for Java applications. Also, the Web browser included with it is rather fast and provides support for Adobe Flash videos.
For what it's worth, the handset looks very attractive, and its elongated form factor seems both interesting and intriguing at the same time. The phone's 4-inch TFT touchscreen display delivers an 800 x 345 pixel resolution, as well as support for 16M colors, and in landscape it is wide enough to allow for two applications to be opened at the same time.
The specs of the phone are also attractive enough, including the 5MP photo snapper with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, auto focus, flash and video recording capabilities, or the 1GB internal memory coupled with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. The connectivity options the phone comes with include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 (microUSB), as well as support for GSM / GPRS / EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz), WCDMA / HSDPA (2100 MHz) bands.
LG announced that the new BL40 would come to the market in the third quarter of the ongoing year, which means that it should land either in August or September. According to Mail.ru, it will come to Russia in September.
