Socialite Kim Kardashian, once known only for being the daughter of the late attorney who defended O.J. Simpson in the murder trial and the best friend of heiress Paris Hilton, is slowly stepping away from her troubled image towards a more classy and sophisticated one. Proof of that is also her latest photospread for Australian Kurv magazine, where she channels the most famous “woman” of all times: the Barbie doll.

Shot by photographer Tony Duran, the spread sees Kardashian wearing a huge, blonde wig and striking her best broken-doll pose. There is no pink in sight – almost a trademark color for Barbie –, but the resemblance with the successful and long-enduring Mattel product is unmistakable. Moreover, the cover of the magazine also features a photo of a close-up of Kim, standing next to a male model who looks very much like Ken, Barbie’s longtime boyfriend.

In fact, Kim herself broke the news of the photospread to her fans even long before the magazine came out, when she had just finished posing for the amazing pictures that have now surfaced on the Internet. “I’m shooting a Barbie themed photo shoot today with famed photographer Tony Duran! These looks are crazy!” Kardashian Tweeted earlier this month, keeping all her fans up-to-date with the latest developments in her career.

Speaking of which, just recently, the socialite turned model turned budding fashionista turned television personality announced that she had realized TV was the thing for her. However, unlike until now, Kim said, she would no longer appear in front of the camera, as she had come to the conclusion that producing was the next logical step in her career. At the moment, Kardashian is hard at work on a reality show on the PR world, for which a pilot has already been shot and is being shopped around to major networks, as we also informed you a while back.

“[This] is the next step in my career. I’ve always wanted to get into producing. After my reality TV show is done, the next step is producing. I definitely see myself in the producing chair. I’ve definitely seen the ins and outs of reality TV. I definitely love reality TV shows. It’s something I’m passionate about. It’ll show all the ins-and-outs or PR. It’s going to be really fun. It’ll show how there’s lots of drama and crisis in the PR world.” Kim said of her somewhat surprising decision to become a reality-show producer.
