These days, Kelly Osbourne is getting more attention than she ever did in her troubled teenage years. She’s lost a lot of weight and she’s determined to keep it that way – by sticking to a healthy diet and strength training.

Though Kelly has spoken before about her efforts to lose weight, this time she goes into more details, revealing she banished junk food and fatty snacks altogether, indulging instead in healthy treats.

The results are clearly visible. “I’m smaller than a sample size,” Kelly says beaming in a recent interview cited by the Daily Mail.

She’s referring, of course, to the controversial sample sizes that are sent out to magazines and agents for stars to wear, and which are tailored to catwalk models (a US size 2-4 / a UK size 6-8).

“Everyone always asks ‘What is the secret?’ But there really is no secret. It is the old fashioned way of making a commitment to yourself and waking up everyday and doing it,” Kelly says of how she managed to drop the extra pounds.

The change occurred after she appeared on Dancing With the Stars, when Kelly discovered the benefits of intense and regular workouts, and healthy eating.

After losing the first pounds, she decided to go for more and completely overhaul her lifestyle. “Casualties” included junk food and fatty snacks.

“Compared to how I used to eat it’s completely different. I don’t eat junk food. I don’t have it in my house anymore. I’m more inclined to go for a bag of carrots now than a bag of chips. I NEVER thought I would turn into that girl but I have,” Kelly says in the same interview.

Dieting is not all it takes to keep Kelly this slim. She also works out a lot, going to the Blue Clay Fitness in Los Angeles, where personal trainer Sarah Hagaman does strength training with her.

“After Dancing With the Stars she got more serious about her commitment to fitness. She wanted to maintain and see how she could progress. She wanted to see what else her body was capable of,” Hagaman once said, as cited by the aforementioned publication.

As it turns out, Kelly’s body is capable of quite a lot, for the reality star is looking better than ever and says she has the kind of confidence now she never imagined she could have in herself.
