Proving once more that he’s not your regular celebrity, Johnny Depp has revealed in a recent interview that not only does he not stand the idea of always being accessible but that he doesn’t even have a cell phone.

As we also noted on several previous occasions, Depp is now promoting “The Tourist,” which explains why he’s suddenly all over in the media – and which is actually good news for his fans, who rarely have the occasion to learn new things about him.

In a recent interview cited by PopEater, Johnny revealed that he didn’t even own a cell phone because he didn’t want people to be able to reach him when he didn’t want to speak to them.

“I just don’t like phones. I just don’t like them... being reachable all the time,” Depp said. Even if he considers cell phones too invasive, fans can still reach him if they want to – they only have to wait longer to hear back from him, though.

“We have internet and stuff like that because I think that’s the safest form, well, most interesting form of communication. You’d have to you know just buzz me on the internet or something,” the actor explained.

Another personal revelation Johnny made recently concerns his longtime relationship to model and singer Vanessa Paradis and their rumor-plagued wedding.

As he puts it, there’s really no chance of him marrying Vanessa because he doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage. Moreover, it’s all the same to him if he has the marriage certificate or not, he loves her all the same.

“I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay, you’re married,” he said, as we also informed you.

“If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not? But the thing is, I’d be so scared of ruining her last name. She’s got such a good last name,” Depp joked.
