Since he has a new movie to promote, Johnny Depp is breaking out of his shell and talking to the media again. The latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine brings not only a jaw-dropping photospread with the gorgeous actor, but also an insight into his everyday life.

Among the topics up for discussion is the pirate that helped make him the mainstream superstar he is today, Captain Jack Sparrow from Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

In a statement that is bound to make his millions of fans appreciate him even more (if possible), Depp talks about the homophobia with Disney honchos, and how much pleasure he took in telling one top notch executive that all his characters were a bit gay.

This, of course, included his Cpt. Sparrow of which they said he was “ruining the movie.”

In the same interview, Depp also reveals how much he’d want to play Hamlet because his late good friend and mentor (of sorts) urged him to do his best to nab the role while he was still young and could pull it off.

Also extremely interesting is what Johnny has to say about his “The Tourist” co-star, Angelina Jolie. He also lets it slip that Brad is Angelina’s “husband,” though they’re not known to have tied the knot.

“Poor thing, dogged by paparazzi, her and her husband, Brad… all their kids,” Depp says of how the paparazzi would make life and work impossible for Angelina and himself on the set of the film.

“There are times when you see how ridiculous is this life, how ludicrous it is, you know, leaving your house every morning and being followed by paparazzi,” he continues.

“[We’d have] to hide, sometimes not even being able to talk to each other in public because someone will take a photograph and it will be misconstrued and turned into some other [stuff],” he adds.

He also compares Angelina to a modern-day Dame Elizabeth Taylor, saying both have this certain something that makes them stand apart from regular woman – and he’s not even referring to their good looks.

“I’ve had the honor and the pleasure and gift of having known Elizabeth Taylor for a number of years. You know, you sit down with her, she slings hash, she sits there and cusses like a sailor, and she’s hilarious. Angie’s got the same kind of thing, you know, the same approach,” Depp explains.
