While the US and Europe are close to selling a million copies each

Although Capcom has released a great deal of titles for all consoles, the developer has had its best days recently with the Xbox 360, releasing Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for it. While the biggest video game consumer in the world is of course Japan, Capcom has registered record sales for the two games with the help of US and European gamers only - the two territories make up 90 percent for the sales of the two games.

Yes, believe it or not, it's true. While Lost Planet: Extreme Condition has sold an amazing number of 810,000 copies, Dead Rising has managed to reach 730,000 homes across Europe and the US. Neither of the two titles from Capcom has registered over 100.000 units sold in Japan, 1UP reports. Guess they like to stick to their Pokemon and Final Fantasy over there. Do you reckon that the two titles will sell a million each by the end of the year?

Capcom has also released Resident Evil 4, for the PS2 and Wii this year. While sales for the Wii installment are not available (the game has barely been released for Nintendo's little platform), PS2 sales are looking good. Again, Japan hasn't sold Capcom more than 90.000 units, but North America and Europe have managed to register 320.000 and 250.000 copies sold respectively.

However, there's no comparison between the two, as Lost Planet: Extreme Condition hasn't been on the market that long. While this one has sold 90.000 units in Japan, having launched January 12, 2007, Resident Evil 4 made the same numbers for Capcom in Japan, having been released two years earlier in the same month. So I guess people in Japan aren't crazily in love with the survival-horror series, either. Wait, the game hasn't just launched on the PS2, but on the GameCube, PC and most recently on the Wii, so the numbers are divided.

Anyway, that's Capcom's status today. Let's see what the Wii installment of Biohazard 4 does for the company's next fiscal year.
