I-O Data is turning out to be one of those IT companies that like to launch products one after another instead of taking it slow, as proven by how yet another one of its storage devices has been detailed.

Even though it already launched quite a few storage units over the past few days, among other things, I-O Data decided to also bring out a so-called multimedia HDD.

For those that want a reminder, the company was active on more than just the storage market lately.

While it did unveil new portable hard disks of 750 GB, along with a dual-drive RAID solution and a DVD burner, it also showed off a 27-inch Super Resolution LCD.

Now, as a means to resume its focus on the storage industry, yet another product (products in this case) has been unleashed.

Bearing the name of HDCA-LU series, it can probably be nicknamed a multimedia HDD because of the purpose its maker envisioned for it.

Mostly, it was created as something capable of storing TV shows, music, movies etc., so that the content may easily be accessed by any TV or PC.

Physically, all members of the lineup measure 39 (W) x 185 (D) x 120 (H) mm and have a weight of 1.1 kg.

They can be colored either black or white and utilize the USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 interface, ensuring wide compatibility.

Not all of them will start shipping at the same time, however, as two of the four will only be sent out over the next two months instead of this January.

That said, the first two to be delivered will be the ones with 1 TB and 2 TB, their prices being of $125 and $203, respectively, while the other two are 1.5 TB (February) and 3 TB (March) units set to cost $164 and $382. All of them will be backed by a one-year warranty.
