All of the future downloadable content released for THQ's upcoming Homefront first-person shooter will arrive first on the Xbox 360 console, as part of a timed exclusive deal between the company and Microsoft.

Homefront is among the few new intellectual properties that will arrive this year, so THQ is trying its best to hype it up before the release, scheduled to take place in March.

We've seen countless debates over its touchy story, in which a united North and South Korea invades the United States of America, but now we have a few details about its post-release strategy.

According to Xbox Live community manager, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, all of the future Homefront downloadable content will be released first for the Xbox 360, and then onto other platforms like the PC or PlayStation 3.

What's more, the Xbox 360 version of Homefront will also arrive with an exclusive multiplayer map called Suburbs, which will be playable right from the get-go.

It seems that Microsoft is quite confident in THQ's new shooter, which is still in development at Kaos Studios, and has invested quite a lot of money in securing some exclusive deals for its Xbox 360 platform.

This should definitely make owners of the console pleased, as Microsoft doesn't have as many exclusive games coming out this year besides Gears of War 3, Forza Motorsport 4 or XCOM.

Sony, on the other hand, has just boasted a lineup of 20 games that will be arriving exclusively on its PlayStation 3 platform this year, from LittleBigPlanet 2 or Killzone 3 to Ratchet & Clank: All4One, Resistance 3 or Uncharted 3.

Microsoft will no doubt bolster its lineup with new games for the Kinect, made by Microsoft itself and other third-party companies like Ubisoft or EA, which have been seeing some pretty big sales in recent times.

Homefront is set to be launched on March 8 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
