When it comes to Hasselblad, everyone awaits to see the new H5D-50c medium format camera that boasts the same 50MP CMOS sensor as the recently released Phase One IQ250 digital back.

While we have to wait a little bit longer for the H5D-50c, the Swedish manufacturer announced today its latest DSLR camera model, the Hasselblad HV, aimed at amateur photo enthusiasts.

As we previously reported, the new Hasselblad HV can accommodate all Sony A-mount lenses and has a body design based on the current Sony A99 model.

In addition to that, the HV DSLR has a 24.3MP full frame CMOS sensor, BIONZ processor, 19-point TTL phase-detection dual AF system from which 11 points are cross type, translucent mirror, and high ISO sensitivity from ISO50 to ISO25,600.

"The new HV is the latest model in our rapidly expanding portfolio of consumer cameras that seamlessly blend beauty and chic with performance. This camera is aimed squarely at people who don't just love taking pictures – but love taking them in real style. And the HV doesn't just look good; it feels good to hold too. We maintained a sharp focus on ergonomics and we used only premium materials like titanium, high-grade aluminum and latest 'tough as nails' PVD coatings," said Ian Rawcliffe, Hasselblad CEO.

Hasselblad HV also features internal image stabilization via sensor-shift mechanism that is capable of compensating 2.5 EV to 4.5 EV in shutter speed depending on the lens you use and shooting conditions.

The camera also packs a 2.36M-dot XGA OLED EVF (electronic viewfinder) with 100% frame coverage and 0.71x magnification as well as a 3-inch TruBlack tilting LCD display. HV DSLR is capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 60 frames per second, 10fps in burst shooting mode, and comes with a dual SD card slot.

Hasselblad HV with Carl Zeiss 24-70mm lens kit is available for purchase right away at a price of €8,500 / $11,500. Moreover, the camera ships with a specially designed case that can withstand harsh weather conditions from -40°C up to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F).
