Halo 3 Features Ninja Gaiden Secret Content... No Dead or Alive Girls Yet

- Bungie pays a neat tribute to Ninja Gaiden

By: Alexandru Stanescu, Editor, Gaming Reviews (Consoles)

You're probably wondering what's the deal with those Dead or Alive girls from the article's title... Well, as you might already know Dead or Alive 4 features the famous Master Chief as one of the characters. We would have expected Bungie to include some
DOA girls as a tribute, too, but the producers seem keener on the Ninja Gaiden series including some content from it.

The Hayabusa helmet and the Ninja sword can now be yours in Halo 3, but only after earning 1000 Achievement Points. It's almost an impossible task, but there are gamers already bearing Ninja Gaiden's tools of destruction. Too bad that the sword is not a usable weapon, but at least it looks nice on the warrior's back. If you don't believe me, check out the article's adjoined picture.

Getting such a large amount of achievement points won't be a ball, since you'll have to find all of the golden and silver skulls, eventually gathering all of the game's skulls. Some of them can really be a pain to find, especially for the people who have never played a Halo title before. This reminds of that God of War tribute from Heavenly Sword, the armor and Blades of Chaos included in the neat PS3 title.

It's nice to see that every once in a while, game developers leave rivalry aside and pay tribute to each other's blockbusters, by including secret content in their games. Since Halo 3 is such a major phenomenon I'm expecting to see some content being borrowed from it and included as a secret in the upcoming titles. Of course, there will always be some compatibility between games that pay tributes, because you can't include Halo 3 content in Need for Speed ProStreet or FIFA 08 content in Final Fantasy XIII. I'm betting on Hellgate London right now to surprise us by featuring Halo unlockables, but we'll see once the game gets released.
