On Thursday, leading mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the upcoming availability of its HTC Wildfire smartphone on the airwaves of wireless carriers in the United States. According to the company, the new device would become available via multiple regional carriers on the North American continent starting with the fourth quarter of the ongoing year.

Running under Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the new smartphone also offers the HTC Sense experience to its users, providing them with fast access to social networks, mobile applications and popular Google services.

The new mobile phone puts together an impressive user interface with a small form factor, offering great capabilities to all users while on the go.

“The HTC Sense experience has changed the way millions of people interface with their smartphone for the better, making it more fun, productive and personal than ever before,” said Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Americas.

“With the HTC Wildfire smartphone, we are bringing the people-focused HTC Sense experience to customers looking for a compact, easy-to-learn smartphone that is still powerful enough to meet the needs of even advanced smartphone users.”

The specifications list of the new device includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and flash, along with 3G connectivity options, Wi-Fi, microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and more.

At the same time, the new HTC Wildfire can keep users connected at all times with their friends over social networking sites like Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, as well as via email or messaging.

“The HTC Wildfire smartphone includes the Leap feature, to make accessing any of the seven home screens quick and easy, Friend Stream for bringing multiple social networking feeds into one easy-to-follow string and an improved People widget designed to easily organize multiple groups of contacts,” HTC notes.

The smartphone comes with the Android 2.1 operating system on board, and offers support for a wide range of applications via the Android Market.
