Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of their user interface for mobile devices, one that should arrive as HTC Sense 3.5, and which can be admired in a series of leaked shots on the web today. The handset vendor did not make an official announcement regarding the release of HTC Sense 3.5 as of now, but chances are that it would do so in the near future, and that new handsets to sport the UI will also be launched.

One of them would be the HTC Bliss, a rather affordable smartphone expected to arrive on shelves with features aimed mainly at women, rumor has it.

Running under Google's Android operating system, the mobile phone will also come with the HTC Sense 3.5 on top, which means that other lower spec'd HTC devices out there might receive the new UI as well.

HTC's latest Sense UI version, 3.0, was not loaded on older phones, as they packed slower, less powerful CPUs than the newer models, and were unable to handle all the animations the user interface included.

In Sense 3.5, however, things seem to have changed, and more users will be able to enjoy access to the new UI on their devices, provided that HTC actually decides to release it for them as well.

Among the distinctive elements that the new UI flavor comes with, we can count a lock screen that features the lock ring and shortcut icons to enable fast access to various favorite programs, but which reportedly adds into the mix notifications for weather and more.

The widgets will have a changed look in Sense 3.5, being more polished than before, and might be accompanied by a series of new ones. The size of widgets might have been modified as well.

The lower area of the screen was reportedly replaced by two icons, one that will get users to application list, and another one that will offer fast access to the phone.

This will result in additional space available on the screen, which will make room for larger widgets, at least this is what can be seen in some of the screenshots attached to this article, courtesy of xda.cn.

Overall, the new interface seems cleaner and more appealing than before. What remains to be seen, of course, is when HTC plans on making it available for its existing Android users, and which new devices are launched with it on top right from the beginning. (via)
