One of the most interesting smartphones that Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is rumored to plan on making available for purchase around the world would be the HTC Pyramid, and some more info on the device's arrival on shelves emerged recently.

Apparently, the yet-unannounced mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves in France as soon as next month, and there is a great possibility that it might make it to other countries as well at that time.

Leaked info from French carrier SFR pins the launch of this device for the end of May, at least this is what a recent article on FrAndroid notes.

The news site also notes that the new mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves in France as the successor of last year's HTC Desire HD, though its specs would certainly differentiate the two a lot.

The HTC Pyramid has been long rumored to be a dual-core smartphone from HTC, one that would arrive on shelves with an application processor clocked in at 1.2GHz.

But this is not all. Among the other leaked details on this device, we can count the fact that it would sport a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that would boast a qHD 960 x 540 pixel resolution, or that it would include 768MB of RAM.

Moreover, the new device is expected to include an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p video recording capabilities, complemented by a VGA front-facing camera for video calling.

The new mobile phone was also rumored to be on its way to the market with Google's Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, with the HTC Sense 3.0 user interface loaded on top of it.

We already had the chance to have a look at this handset, courtesy of a series of photos that made it into the wild with it. Specific info on the handset's availability or pricing has not emerged until now, but HTC might make the move as soon as April 12th, so stay tuned for updates on the matter.
