Will expand the support for distribution of HTC products

Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation recently announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Synnex, one of the largest distribution companies in Australia. The global designer of smartphones is already present on the market in Australia, yet the new agreement is expected to enable it expand its reach in the area.

According to the handset vendor, the inclusion of Synnex in the list of distribution partners should result in an expanded support for the distribution of the company's smartphones and wireless solutions to Australian retailers. Credit facilities and account management are included in the agreement, in an attempt to provide retailers with improved levels of fulfillment and stock management.

“This strategic alliance with Synnex represents a great enhancement to meet the growing demand for HTC handsets in Australia,” Anthony Petts, sales and marketing director ANZ, HTC Corporation, commented on the new announcement. “Synnex’s experience will accelerate further the availability of HTC phones to Australian customers.” Synnex is a division of Synnex Technology International Corporation, the largest IT distribution company in the Asia Pacific region, and is also considered the third largest around the world.

“We are very pleased to sign this agreement with HTC today as this marks Synnex’s first move into the distribution of communication devices. Synnex continues to expand its capability in the retail market and offers an unrivalled level of service, logistics and support to its customers. We look forward to helping HTC meet the demand for its products in the Australian market,” Kee Ong, CEO, Synnex Australia added on the signing of the new agreement.

According to the two companies, the new agreement will become effective on July 1 and should make Synnex the second distributor in Australia of the power-packed HTC portfolio. The offering should include products aimed at users' needs in the mobile Internet space or on social networking, in addition to a wide range of applications for work and entertainment.
