The Windows Mobile-powered HTC Leo (aka HTC HD2, aka HTC Pro.Three) has been rumored for quite some time now to be heading towards O2's lineup, and now the rumors seem to have been confirmed in a way via the image attached to this article, which shows the device in an O2 in-store catalog.

The rumored release date for the high-end device, which should come to the market with a Snapdragon processor inside and with a very large touchscreen display, is October 12, yet the new photo does not show anything in this regard. Moreover, Engadget, which also published the image, says that it might have been pushed back until October 26.

However, the handset that can be seen in the picture seems to come with a stock Windows Mobile 6.5 user interface, and not with the TouchFLO 3D 2.5 UI from HTC that recently emerged in a video. There are no details on why the mobile phone appears this way on the catalog, yet things might be brought to light in the near future, as soon as the handset becomes official, that is.

The HTC Leo (HD2), as many of you might already know, comes to the market with a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, which enables O2 to present it as “featuring the largest screen yet on a mobile.” The performance levels the handset is expected to deliver are quite leveraged as well, and a series of recently published benchmark results for the device show just that.

O2 has just lost the iPhone exclusivity, and there are great chances that it might try to push to the market new, high-end devices to compensate for the loss, with HTC Leo being one of them, which means that we might not have to wait too long before it all goes official. Watch this space to learn more details on the device.
