HTC HD7S, the high-end Windows Phone-based handset that arrived on shelves at AT&T only a few weeks ago, is now available for purchase through Best Buy at only $49 with the signing of a new contract agreement.

Packing a 1GHz application processor inside, the HTC HD7S is the largest Windows Phone on the market to date, with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, the same as the HD7 smartphone that landed at T-Mobile in November last year.

It is one of the most appealing Windows phones on shelves today, and the fact that is already out of stock at AT&T seems to be a proof of that.

Of course, there is also the possibility that AT&T had only a low stock of HD7S units available for its customers, but the bottom line is that those who will try to make the purchase from the wireless carrier's website will have to hold back a few days, until stock is replenished.

The mobile phone comes with a 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 processor inside, and with the said 4.3-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen display, which can deliver a 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA) resolution.

“This mobile phone features a 4.3" LCD touch-screen display for easy viewing and navigation. The Windows Phone 7 operating system and Wi-Fi make it easy to stay productive on the go,” Best Buy notes on its website.

The specifications list of the new device would also include support for the wireless carrier's 3G network, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth capabilities, or GPS receiver, with support for various location-based applications.

On the back, the new device sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with the ability to capture 720p HD videos. The handset also offers 16 GB of built-in user storage.

Of course, the phone would also offer support for the usual services associated with the Windows Phone platform, including the possibility to download and install applications from the Marketplace, as well as with support for AT&T-specific services, such as AT&T Navigator, AT&T Social Net, AT&T FamilyMap, AT&T Music, and more.
