It looks like India's second 3D smartphone is about to make its debut, as HTC has just confirmed that the HTC EVO 3D will be available very soon for Rs. 35,990 (about $780).

The EVO 3D has a fierce competitor on the Indian market, as LG already launched its Optimus 3D on the market, a few weeks ago.

However, the EVO 3D comes with several improvements that seem to give an edge over its rival, including more RAM, a better resolution of the screen and an upgraded processor.

Not to mention that the EVO 3D comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board and HTC Sense UI, whereas the Optimus 3D runs Google's Froyo platform.

We are proud to collaborate with Qualcomm to present another technological breakthrough device from HTC, the EVO 3D-the first smartphone available in the Indian market offering a superior 3D viewing experience without glasses. We are confident that the HTC Evo 3D will set a benchmark for 3D viewing and our consumers will make best use of this offering,” said Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, country head, HTC India.

Furthermore, HTC EVO 3D packs 1 GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), while the Optimus 3D comes with 8GB of internal memory, but only 512 MB of RAM.

Both devices feature stereoscopic dual 5-megapixel cameras, which allow users to capture in 3D, and HSDPA (14.4Mbps) support for high speed data transfers.

HTC's built-in 3D display technology allows for a smooth multimedia experience, as users will be able to watch videos and browse photos on the large 4.3-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen that doesn't require glasses.

The EVO 3D has a 4.3-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen with support for 16 million colors and 540 x 960 pixels resolution, while the Optimus 3D only supports 480 x 800 pixels resolutions.

No exact release date has been disclosed yet, but the EVO 3D may soon make its debut in India.
