It appears that details of a bundle involving Guitar Hero: On Tour have made their way onto a web page, that of the popular children store Toys'R'Us. Their products page offers the first glimpse of the Nintendo DS bundle for the game. It will feature a Nintendo DS Lite handheld, the game, that weird little guitar grip accessory that makes the game playable and another stylus that is shaped in the form of a classic guitar pick. The price shown on the web page is 179.99 dollars for the bundle, which is called the Special Edition Guitar Hero Metallic Silver Black DS Lite.

On Tour is designed to allow players to enjoy Guitar Hero on the DS by playing in very much the same way that a real guitar is played. A special attachment is used to simulate the fret buttons, while the stylus is also used on the touch screen. It looks like the game might get some getting used to, but it could prove an interesting twist on old Guitar Hero mechanics.

Activision is really upping the tempo when it comes to Guitar Hero. The game was one of the biggest revenue providers for the company in 2007, and it is looking forward to making sure that the franchise enjoys the same success in 2008. A Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game is on the way, allowing fans to relive the adventures of the band since its creation to present day, while playing guitar on their greatest hits. The DS version of the game is set for release in June and Guitar Hero: World Tour, the fourth game in the series, is positioned as a direct competitor for Rock Band, the game from Harmonix and MTV, because it also integrates drums and vocals.

Alongside the development of new games, Activision is also continuing to offer downloadable songs for Guitar Hero over the Internet. It's unlikely that the DS version gets any DLC, but we might see a new game cartridge with new content if Guitar Hero: On Tour proves to be a good game.
