A new Google service is now available for mobile phone users, one that would offer users the possibility to easily print documents while on the go, namely Google Cloud Print for mobile.

Google launched Cloud Print last year, a service available in beta, through which users would be able to print from any app or device, OS or browser, all without having to install a new software for that.

Slowly, the company started to expand the availability of the service to more users, including those in the Chrome notebook pilot program.

"Today we are very pleased to announce the beta launch of Google Cloud Print for mobile documents and Gmail for mobile, which we will be rolling out to users throughout the next few days," Tyler Odean, Google Cloud Print Team, notes in a post on Google Mobile Blog.

“Imagine printing an important document from your smartphone on the way to work and finding the printout waiting for you when you walk in the door.”

To enjoy the new feature, users would just have to open a document in Google Docs or an email in Gmail in the browser on their mobile phones, and then choose “Print” from the dropdown menu available in the top right corner.

Moreover, Google Cloud Print for mobile enables users to easily print various email attachments (such as .pdf or .doc). This can be easily done through clicking the “Print” link that appears next to them.

The new feature has started to roll-out to users since Monday, and is available for English speakers in the United States. The service should work with a wide range of devices, such as those running under Android 2.1+ and iOS 3+, which offer support for HTML5.

“To get started, you’ll need to connect your printer to Google Cloud Print. This step requires a Windows PC for now, but Linux and Mac support are coming soon. You can learn more at the Google Cloud Print help center,” the said blog post continues.
