This week, we got the NPD numbers for the United States market for the month of December and found out that 2009 ended on a high note as the videogame industry had the best December ever. We have the regular Weekend Reading and EndGameWeek content alongside out regular cast of news. And if you like reading, we also have a review of Divinity 2 – Ego Draconis.

On Monday, we found out that Fable 3 might be previewed extensively at one point during February and since it was another week, another hack came to Modern Warfare 2, this one involving ice and skating.

On Tuesday, we found out a lot more details about Halo: Reach, while the hopes of World of Warcraft fans to see a movie about the MMO this year were dashed because of the problems arising between management and Sam Raimi on Spider Man 4.

Wednesday was a day for movie experiences. James Cameron, who created the 3D revolution Avatar, said that he was ready to work with Ubisoft in order to design more videogames in the future from those ideas he would not be turning into movies. Meanwhile, BioWare stated that it was already working on Mass Effect 3, the final installment in one of the most loved movie-like series out there.

On Thursday, Sony announced that the Japanese date for Gran Turismo 5 had been pushed back yet again to an undisclosed interval. On the bright side, that delay is not affecting the North American and European dates. On the gloomy side, those unaffected dates were not announced. And we also took a cold, hard look at Assassin's Creed II.

Friday was the day of the NPD charts for December, which showed the industry growing. Nintendo dominates the hardware sales, while PlayStation 3 is over the Xbox 360 and, on the software side, New Super Mario Bros. is overwhelming Modern Warfare 2. In other gaming news, Valve is allowing players to create even more content for Team Fortress 2.
